the black background is a good idea. Looks good with my new font.

Not to be a stick in the mud but opting to replace firmware data file files instead of patching them, means that you have to provide firmware files with the release, and as you probably already know, doing so isn't very legal.

Does this remove the gameboot file and the psp skips it, or do you like replace the gameboot with a blank movie?

iv done the gameboot switch
but all it does it takes out the sound . .

The white screen with PSP on it isn't part of the movie.... it's the short part with the
little coloured balls.

Could you put 1.5 gameboot and opening_plugin.rco there as well?
I can't make the program restore to original if I don't have the original files.
They aren't on my PSPs, so I can't read them off .

replace the file ltn0.pgf in the Xflash folder with the font you like.
I don't suggest changing too much in that folder. If I could hide it's contents
in the Eboot, I would.

Click on the link for custom boot intro in my sig, and there's a video of it to download
it's about 5Mb.

The "Sony Computer Entertainment" text is removed from the boot intro,
AND the wave effect is removed from the boot intro, AND the sound is changed
to an air wrench.

No it doesn't use Flashmod.
The only routine Flashmod uses that this program uses is an example from ps2dev.org.
That's the routine that actualy copies the source file to destination (flash0).
Other than that it is written from scratch.

its in the v2.0 download in the first post of this thread
when you have it downloaded its in 'xflash/xflash/original/ltn0.pgf

im having problems with 2.0
when the folders are put onto my psp it does not give me any corrupted data
it gives me two icons - both called X-Flash
one has the X icon with a PIC1
the other has the flashmod icon with no PIC1
both give me the 800200001 error upon trying to load them

i did nothing with the files once i downloaded them so its nothing i did

had no problem with 1.0

you are right, I have removed the attachment, although I think it's only a
problem with the kxploit folder that seems to get corrupted whenever I copy
it back from the PSP. I will try again.
I was going to flogg off the flash mod icon, but since I have a dead board and
a camera, I can make my own :D

ps, If you applied the new error sound from V1, you would have heard the new sound for the error :)

EBOOT.PBP creates the 1.0/2.0+ eboot and kxploit will generate the two kxploit folders with the 1.5 eboots.

I don't know what you mean.
Each file that is flashed is in both folders (Modified, Original).
All except ltn0 (font) belong in flash0:vsh/resource/ on your PSP.
These files can be changed, but I don't recommend it.
The potential for users to flash their own files is the reason why PSPset has
made so many bricks. I doubt it is even the authors fault. Sooner or later,
someone is going to fiddle with this, and the same thing will happen.

Up until now I've had to reboot my dual boot machine for every change made to xflash.
USB was not working on Win2K, and cygwin is not on XP, but I got a USB 2.0 driver
for Win2K, so that should speed things up a bit.

Are you a photoshopper? Nice job BUT I had an idea for an icon0 and pic1 that didn't
involve that gh3y 'Captain Xflash' dude in it xD good work though, I can't photoshop for ****.
Maybe you should enter that premium member competition to photoshop a picture of fire.
